Mama June Calls Alana A Dropout, Relationship Severed
Mama June Shannon is calling her youngest daughter, Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson a “dropout.” Along with those unkind words, their relationship appears to be severed for the foreseeable future. What transpired to cause these harsh words to be said? Keep reading for more details.
Mama June Calls Alana A Dropout
It has been a hard season for Mama June Shannon and Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson. June has stolen a lot of money from Alana which just recently came out. Along with that, she had not been all that encouraging about her daughter going away to college. It is a big deal that Alana not only got into a great school for nursing but landed a $21K/year scholarship. Yet, June knocks her down at every turn and keeps saying she needs to get herself together. This seemed like a type of avoidance because she knew she could not help Alana with anything when it came to school.
This was true when Alana asked June for help with her tuition but she declined. She even suggested Pumpkin and her husband, Josh Efird should help pay as they raised Alana for several years. When Alana wanted her money from her Coogan account, it came up very short of her expectations. There was only $33K left and that was not nearly enough. June made a bunch of excuses as to where it went but her addiction was a big part. Now, in the midseason finale, Pumpkin and Alana broke it all down for June but she has some cruel words for her youngest daughter.
Per Meaww, Mama June doesn’t feel she should have to help Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson as she is not convinced she will stay in college. Therefore, she does not think she should have to invest just for her to be a dropout. This comes after Pumpkin has done all of the research and calculations. She discovered $35,728 missing from the account. This made Pumpkin go off on her mother and understandably so.
Priorities, June
Pumpkin wanted to try to get Mama June’s priorities straight and remind her what she blew her money on versus what was a good investment. She had this to say when breaking down how June could be of help to Alana ‘Boo Boo’ Thompson:
“You’re being [a] negative b***h! You’re not a supportive mother! Who cares?! It’s investing in your daughter if you lost 10 grand? You lost $500,000 to a bag of f*****g crack, bitch!”
After seeing how June clearly had no faith in her and how she had done her dirty, Alana wanted her $35K back. Furthermore, she shared that if that was not paid back, ties would be cut.
“If Mama wants to have like a relationship with me she needs to pay me back, because one thing I don’t do, is I don’t hang around no ‘thief’ that gonna steal my money now. You was the one who stole it so you need to pay my money back.”
Pumpkin was blown away that June did not care about anything at this point. Not even her marriage to Justin Stroud. She had gone to a new low and it was now known that Justin was more than welcome at Pumpkin’s home but that was it.
