Citra Wilson recently shared a concerning update about her husband, Sam. On May 4, the 26-year-old mom-to-be posted a photo of Sam in the hospital. Wilson later thanked her 68.9 thousand followers for their well wishes, sharing that Sam had a skin infection
Citra told her Instagram followers, “Thank you all for the prayers guys. Sam got [a] skin infection. Hopefully he is going home tomorrow. I am staying with him at the hospital tonight. I can’t sleep without him anyway.”
90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers: Sam Wilson Hospitalized
Citra and Sam showcased their love story on season 10 of 90 Day Fiancé, which first aired last December. The couple met on a dating app three years ago. Sam Wilson, 30, proposed to Citra during a trip to Indonesia. They got married in September 2023. Sam also converted to Islam for Citra.
Citra’s sister Nafa and Sam’s brother Timmy are also married. They first met during Sam and Citra’s wedding back in September 2023. The couple announced their engagement on November 7, 2023 via Facebook.
Citra told fans via Instagram stories, “I’m happy for them even if they can both be such a pain in our asses sometimes lol.”
Fans are already buzzing about the potential for spinoffs for Sam and Citra’s family.
This wouldn’t be the first time TLC started a spinoff to focus on a specific family from the 90 Day Fiancé franchise. In 2019, TLC premiered The Family Chantel. The show followed Chantel Everett and Pedro Jimeno as well as their extended family. While Chantel and Pedro eventually divorced in 2022, fans suspect that a show following Sam and Citra’s family would be a bit less contentious. While Sam’s social media presence is minimal, Citra seems to enjoy being in front of the camera. She has a TikTok account with Sam. The account has 62,000 followers.
Sam and Citra are known as one of the more grounded couples on the show. Genuine affection is rare on 90 Day Fiancé, so fans felt refreshed by their dynamic. But that doesn’t mean their relationship is without its hurdles.
Sam has been open about his struggles with addiction. In March of 2023, Sam was arrested for felony possession of cocaine, felony possession of buprenorphine, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. The charge for cocaine possession was eventually dropped.
Sam later opened up about his arrest to the cameras in December, explaining that he was caught with suboxone without a prescription. Suboxone is a prescription drug used to treat opioid use disorder. Sam did not go to jail for the arrest.
In a franchise that built an empire off of shoddy relationships, Sam and Citra stick out as one of the franchises’ most “normal” couples. The pair are expecting their first child, a girl, in June.
Fans are still waiting for word from Citra about whether Sam’s returned from the hospital. In the meantime, fans are wishing Sam a speedy recovery as the pair prepares for the arrival of their first child.
