Whitney Way Thore Shares Rare Photo Of Mom, Missing Her Badly
Mother’s Day can be a particularly difficult holiday for many people. My Big Fat Fabulous Life star Whitney Way Thore loves honoring and celebrating her late mother, Babs. However, Whitney still feels the sting of losing Babs from time to time.
The last season of MBFFL heavily explored the family’s grief process as they mourned together and learned to live again. Now, Whitney is more thankful for her family than ever before.

Whitney Way Thore Memorializes Babs On Mother’s Day
Babs Thore passed away on December 7, 2022, after suffering a series of health complications. Whitney, Glenn, and Hunter all prayed for her recovery. But as time went on, she ultimately succumbed to her health conditions.
However, she lives on in their hearts. Mother’s Day might be difficult for the family, but they couldn’t let it pass by without remembering Babs.
“God, I miss my mother. 🖤” Whitney shared with her Instagram followers. She attached a photo of herself as a baby, with a younger Babs giving her a kiss. The rest of the photos in the post are from various stages throughout their lives together.
A few of the photos are from Babs’ younger days and haven’t been seen by fans before.
Whitney’s father Glenn wrote in the comments, “Babs the love of my life – Americas Mom!”
Plenty other of fans wrote their condolences and favorite memories of Babs in the comments. They shared:

The Thore Family Moves Forward
Although nothing will ever completely erase the pain of losing Babs, Whitney Way Thore seems to be healing as time goes on. On the one-year anniversary of Babs’ death, Whitney shared an incredibly touching post dedicated to her mother.
The post read, “I miss nights with my mommy and our songs and inside jokes and laughter and cuddles. One year down, a lifetime of missing you to go 🖤.”
Whitney later deleted the post, but fans thought it was incredibly sweet.
